72 hour and emergency kit

Mark & I have been working on getting our 72 hour kits back up and running.  In the past, we have put quite a bit of time and money into them and having the majority of it expire within the year.  This year, we have been smarter, bought MRE's, packaged water and bought powdered toothpaste.  I have really enjoyed the time we have spent together on this project.  Mark's backpack has way more than mine and I have way more than the girl's.  It is a great feeling to have them available and current for an emergency.

Dream

So, I had this dream last night:

Mark, Sarah, Amy and I lived on another planet after having left the earth before some awful planetary catastrophe. (watched a Star Trek movie recently.) After being gone from earth for a long while, although we didn't age (worried about turning 49 next month), we decided to take a trip to earth to see what was up.  We recognized a lot of places since we used to be earthlings.  We flew in our spaceship, which encapsulated our motor home. (no clue there) As we flew in over earth, we saw lots of ruins and strange roads that let up in the sky and swirled around bill boards. It looked to be deserted everywhere.  Oh, and we also had Aries and Ondine with us. (man's best friend)  We flew on a little further and started to see people standing in a long line in front of a Walmart store.  Everyone looked really worn out and dirty.  (how I see Walmart patrons) We landed and I remember thinking that I needed to buy a specific light bulb for the motor home,  (I need a bulb for my flashlight.) So Amy and I went to the Walmart with some change I found in the motor home.  There were many racks of clothing everywhere and I couldn't find the Hardware section.  I finally located it in a sectioned off area, like you'd see an electronics place in Walmart.  I went up to the counter and asked if she had the bulb and she said, "You mean this light emitter?".  After she found me one, she told me it would $3.17 with tax. I remember thinking that at least they have some type of government if they charged sales tax.  I asked her if they took "old world money" and was told no.  So, I couldn't buy it.  We walked out and I turned off the light as we left and they got all mad at us. (what I always do when I leave a room, drives my co-workers crazy)  We tried to run off but we couldn't get past a fast walk. (my abhorrence of jogging)  We made it back to the motor home and told everyone we needed to leave now cause they were after us.  Mark decided he wanted to take Ondine for a walk and I told him, "At least you won't have to worry about cars!"  He laughed.  It was raining and plants seemed to flourish.  I wondered why no one planted a garden to help sustain the economy, as we waited for Mark's return...

Lol...
